This natural, organic pet shampoo blend combines moisturizing carrier oils with cedarwood and geranium essential oils, which are popular for natural grooming. While suitable for dogs, you must exercise extreme caution regarding cats, as geranium and certain cedarwood compounds can be toxic to them.

Benefits of the Ingredients

Coconut Oil: Deeply moisturizes, acts as a natural antimicrobial, and helps relieve dry, flaky skin.

Olive Oil: Provides deep hydration to the skin, softens fur, and adds natural shine.

Castor Oil: Nourishes the hair follicles, adds strength to the hair, and helps create a stable, creamy lather.

Cedarwood Essential Oil: A natural, non-toxic insect repellent (fleas/ticks) that also has anti-inflammatory properties to soothe itchy skin.

Geranium Essential Oil: Known as a calming agent that helps heal skin issues and repels insects.

General Benefits: Provides a chemical-free clean that reduces odors, strengthens the coat, and soothes sensitive skin.

Safety: Dogs vs. Cats Dogs: Generally safe. Cedarwood and geranium are effective at repelling pests.

Always perform a patch test on a small area of the belly to check for sensitivities.

Cats: High Risk. Cats lack certain liver enzymes needed to break down many essential oils. While some sources list cedarwood as acceptable, Geranium is listed as toxic to cats by the ASPCA, causing potential gastrointestinal distress, ataxia, or depression. If you use it on a cat, ensure extreme dilution (hardly any essential oils) and use it very rarely.

How to Use

Dilute: Ensure the shampoo is heavily diluted with water before applying (e.g., 1 part shampoo to 5 parts water).

Patch Test: Before the first bath, apply a tiny amount to your pet's skin and wait 24 hours to check for a reaction.

Application: Wet your pet’s coat thoroughly, apply the shampoo, and massage into a lather, focusing on the back, neck, and tail.

Avoid Sensitives: Keep the shampoo well away from the eyes, nose, mouth, and genital areas.

Rinse Thoroughly: Ensure no residue is left behind, as pets may ingest it when grooming.

Frequency Dogs: Only as needed, typically when they are visibly dirty or smelly. Over-washing can strip away natural oils and dry out their skin.

Cats: Very rarely, as they are expert self-groomers. Excessive bathing can cause severe irritation and stress.
